Which insurance policies can I take out for my car?

Compulsory insurance Civil Liability Car

In Belgium, you are legally obliged to take out a Civil Liability Car policy for every car you drive on the public road. This insurance covers material damage and physical injuries suffered by third parties in an accident that is caused by you. You will find more information about the compulsory Civil Liability Car insurance here.

In addition to the compulsory Civil Liability Car insurance, you can extend your car insurance with the following covers:

Fully comprehensive insurance

In the event of an accident where you are at fault, fully comprehensive insurance covers the damage to your vehicle. A full comprehensive policy provides complete protection while a partially comprehensive policy covers a more limited range of damage claims.

You will find more information about the fully comprehensive insurance here.

Legal assistance insurance

A lawsuit after a traffic violation, an accident with one of your company vehicles or a dispute with your garage owner: these are just a few of the many situations in which you can rely on legal assistance and financial support through your legal assistance policy.

You will find more information about the legal assistance insurance here.

Travel and breakdown insurance

A travel and breakdown insurance policy provides medical assistance and help if you have an accident or a breakdown with your car.

You will find more information about the travel and breakdown insurance here.

Driver's insurance

With driver’s insurance, you will receive a financial contribution for medical expenses and loss of income due to incapacity for work in the event of an accident.

You will find more information about the driver's insurance here.
