Why take out a hospitalisation insurance?

Hospitalisation insurance is not a legally required insurance. The rapid evolution in medical science, however, has resulted in an increasing number of treatments and higher costs. Social security can only assist here to a limited extent. The inevitable consequence of this is that the patient has to pay more himself/herself, on average 20% to 25% of the invoice. Your own share of the bill can be quite high, especially if you stay in a private room. A hospitalisation insurance offers a solution for this by covering your additional costs.

What risks are covered by a hospitalisation insurance?

Our hospitalisation insurance cover includes the following:

  • admission to a hospital
  • treatment before and after hospital admission
  • serious illnesses
  • cover and assistance in the case of hospital admission abroad
